Introducing Faith Huyck, Our Urban Beekeeper
Hi, my name is Faith. As a fifth generation beekeeper, I am completely amazed by honeybees. They are highly intelligent, democratic, and can teach us so much about the environment, team work, and having a strong work ethic. In my relatively short tenure as a beekeeper, my appreciation for these fascinating creatures, view on nature, and sense of family tradition has deepened. Beekeeping has also increased my sense of community in many ways.
First, my ‘bee buddy’, who I met through the local beekeeping club, has been super generous with his time and knowledge. Second, giving honey, the precious, golden nectar created by the lady bees, to family and friends has been a real treat. Thirdly, I am thankful for my neighbors and local community who have bee-friendly plants as I sure they have been visited by some of bees I keep.
Lastly, it has lead to a partnership between myself, the bees who did most of the work, and E’s Hot Honey Co. I’m excited to continue to learn more about the precious creatures who provide such a valuable service to other beings, grow in community, and do my best to provide a healthy environment for the honeybees to thrive.

Our story with Faith began serendipitously through our local yoga studio, Dharamsala TC. It was there that I first learned about her passion for beekeeping and the thriving urban apiary she maintained. Drawn to her dedication and the importance of pollinators, I often checked in on Faith and her bees. Little did I know that this casual connection would blossom into a fruitful business partnership.
Faith has dedicated herself to nurturing healthy bee colonies and producing the purest, most delicious honey right in the heart of our city. Her honey is a testament to the resilience of nature and the importance of pollinators. Her bees collect nectar from a variety of urban blooms, creating a unique and flavorful honey that captures the essence of Traverse City.
